PURCELLVILLE, VA (July 13, 2017) - The Secure Cash & Transport Association (SCTA) announces its 2017 conference for cash industry professionals. Designed to support the association’s mission to protect, strengthen, and unite the cash-in-transit and cash servicing industries, this fifth annual event will attract professionals and corporations in ATM servicing, cash handling and processing, transportation, and safe keeping of cash and coin. The theme for the 2017conference is “Becoming a High Reliability Industry.”

ABC News Analyst, Safety Advocate, and Licensed Attorney, John Nance, will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2017 conference. Nance is a pioneer and well-known advocate of using the lessons from the recent revolution in aviation safety to equally revolutionize the patient safety performance of hospitals and all of healthcare. He will describe the shared characteristics and practices of high reliability organizations and provide clear insight attendees can bring back to their organizations to keep them working well when faced with high risks and unexpected situations.

“Society and the economy depend on the entire cash lifecycle and its constituents to remain highly reliable,” explains SCTA President, Mark Lowers. “The gravity of failure is simply too great. This year’s conference is all about helping our attendees, each of whom plays a vital role in the transport, servicing, and management of cash here in the United States, improve the reliability of their operations and the industry as a whole.”

The SCTA also welcomes special guest speaker, Admiral Eric T. Olson, US Navy (Retired). Considered one of this century’s great military leaders, Admiral Eric T. Olson is credited with developing the specialized forces that have accomplished some of the most notable military operations of the last decade, including the raid on Osama bin Laden. Olson’s personal operational experiences were diverse, marked by valor and strong leadership. He is known as a visionary and action-oriented leader who stayed connected with his forces at all levels. Having developed the best of the best, Admiral Eric T. Olson addresses building, training, and leading highly effective teams and our nation’s geopolitical challenges. At the SCTA conference, he will provide insights on megatrends affecting global security, economics, and politics.

The conference will also feature thought-leader presentations on topics including the CIT industry perspective, emerging trends in the banking industry, an FBI briefing, FinCEN enforcement actions, Federal Reserve cash product updates, breaking the cash management software silo, planning for an active assailant scenario, today’s ATM security challenges, hiring and recruiting assessments, and global trends on robberies, attacks, and crimes.

The SCTA Conference takes place September 27-29, 2017 at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile. Details about the event, registration information, and association membership details can be found at the event website at scta.securetransportassociation.org.
