London, UK & SIOUX FALLS, SD, USA – July 2014 - The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) today announced the first ever ATM operator to be internationally certified after completing the industry’s new professional online operational training.

Amy Coulson, Operations Manager with Pueblo Bank & Trust, has been awarded the industry endorsed International Certificate for ATM Operators to become the first certified ATM Operator since the training launched earlier this year.

Mike Lee, CEO of ATMIA stated, “I am very proud of Amy who has proved herself a trailblazer and has written herself into the industry’s history books by becoming the first person in the world to complete an international industry certified professional ATM operators training program. I would like to congratulate Amy and her employer, Pueblo Bank & Trust, on this pioneering achievement. She has set an example for all who take huge pride in their profession in the worldwide ATM industry.”

The courses offered are online, represent job-specific training for ATM operators and have been developed by ATMIA on an international level for all ATM operators/owners irrespective of which regional, national or global markets they operate ATMs in. The content is based on extensive research into the operating practices and procedures of ATM businesses worldwide, drawing on ATMIA’s industry best practices and membership base of over 4,600 individuals in 65 countries.

“Through the training courses for ATM Operators provided by ATMIA, not only was I able to reinforce and refresh my knowledge of the industry basics, I also learned the mechanics to which I had not been previously exposed. I strongly recommend this course study for all participants in the industry.  These courses are a great educational value,” said Amy Coulson upon completing the training.

Participation in the ATM Operator training is user-friendly, with all courses automatically tracked electronically via ATMIA’s website. There are over 100 online sessions. The certification earned increases the credibility and visibility of professional operators.

Betsy Bohlen, VP of ISO Sponsorship Services at Pueblo Bank & Trust commented on the importance of the certification program, “As a Sponsor Financial Institution for the ATM Industry, we recognize the importance of understanding the various components within this payment segment. Recognizing the ATM business from all views, allows us the opportunity to connect and offer our clients relative products and services, as well as be able to communicate effectively. We are very pleased that Amy Coulson, Operations Manager, has completed the course, as it has provided her and our Division a valuable perspective of the ATM industry.”
