LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 26, 2018 (Business Wire) – Payment Alliance International (PAI), the nation’s largest privately-held ATM provider, today announced that President and Chief Executive Officer John J. Leehy III has been elected president of the ATM Industry Association’s (ATMIA) global executive committee, and that PAI Chief Payments Officer Donna Embry has been elected co-chair of ATMIA’s U.S. regional board. Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based ATMIA is the leading nonprofit trade association representing the global ATM industry. The elections took place in conjunction with ATMIA’s annual U.S. conference and expo in Las Vegas earlier this month.

“It will be an honor to serve on the board of directors of ATMIA under the presidency of PAI’s John Leehy,” said Mike Lee, ATMIA chief executive officer. “ATMIA is delighted that such a wise and respected industry leader will be at the helm of our global association for a three-year term. As deputy president, John was instrumental in guiding the association in measuring the value it provides to more than 11,000 members worldwide, which has markedly increased our annual renewal rate,” added Lee. “His presidency will coincide with the greatest period of innovation this industry has seen with our next- generation ATM project in full swing, and we look forward to significant strategic progress under his stewardship.”

Leehy has been a leader in the payment processing industry for nearly three decades and co-founded PAI in 2005. “It is an honor to be elected president of ATMIA, and I am proud to lead this global organization during the most advanced period in ATM technology we’ve ever seen,” said Leehy. “I view the next three years as an enormous yet fascinating challenge, and my goal is to proactively represent the interests and serve the needs of the entire global ATM community spread across nearly 70 countries.”

“Donna’s vast experience in the industry will be a significant asset to the ATMIA board and leadership,” said David Tente, executive director for ATMIA’s U.S. and Americas regions. “I look forward to working with Donna on a regular basis and am sure she will be a great leader and contributor,” added Tente.

Embry will serve a two-year term co-chairing the ATMIA U.S. regional board and has 50-plus years of experience in the payments industry. Elizabeth “Betsy” Bohlen, of Evolve Bank & Trust will co-chair with Embry. “I’m very excited to co-chair ATMIA’s U.S. board,” said Embry. “I look forward to working with Betsy to help shape the future of the ATM industry as well as help ATMIA achieve its mission and goals in the U.S. region.”
