Prosegur and Prosegur Cash sign the UN principles of women's empowerment

Madrid, January 30, 2023. Prosegur and Prosegur Cash reinforce their commitment to gender equality by adopting the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEP) , established by the UN Global Compact and UN women . In this way, both companies reaffirm their commitment to promote and develop female talent and increase their representation in the private security sector.

This guide offers guidance to companies on how to promote gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace, the marketplace and society. The principles are based on the highest international labor rights and legal standards. In addition, they are part of the 2030 agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals dedicated to gender equality.

Prosegur and Prosegur Cash consider diversity and plurality in the world of work as an element that generates value in companies. In addition, in a sector historically made up of men, both companies have shown that women have a fundamental role in providing the best security services in the world around us. Specifically, 21% of the group's total workforce are women, which represents a percentage that is above the average within the private security sector. However, the objective of both organizations is for this percentage to continue to increase and, therefore, their strategy will continue to focus on promoting female talent and encouraging the participation of women in this sector.

In this sense, in addition to actions related to the reconciliation of work and family life, both companies launched the Empowered Women program in 2021, an initiative with which they seek to promote leadership and self-promotion of women and, at the same time, make employees aware of the importance of gender equality in the world of work.
