ALABAMA

The Board of Nursing will accept comments until December 5 regarding proposed rules relating to various practice standards for nurses.

The Board of Physical Therapy will hold a public hearing December 5 regarding proposed amendments to rules concerning licensing and continuing competence.

The State Medical Board will hold a public hearing December 6 regarding proposed amendments to rules and regulations governing telemedicine.

CALIFORNIA

The Del Mar City Council will meet December 3 to consider the adoption of an ordinance on second reading which regulates and prohibits the use of expanded polystyrene and non-recyclable plastic disposable food service ware, and directs the City Attorney to review a draft ordinance to prohibit the use of plastic straws and make non-plastic straws available only upon request.

The Department of Environmental Management will accept comments until December 7 regarding proposed potential changes to its emissions rules regarding the operation of short term backup units.

The House Committee on Energy Policy will hold a public hearing December 4 regarding H.B. 6428, which provides for the regulation and control of public and private utilities and other services affected with a public interest within this state.

The Retirement Systems Committee is scheduled to meet on December 3 to examine the public employees' retirement systems administered by the Public Employees Retirement Board.
