A Ram Raid Forum
A Ram Raid Forum was conducted in November with ATMIA members and proved to be very successful. Det Inspector Murray Chapman from the Piccadilly Task Force (a division of the New South Wales Police) was the guest speaker and he was able to provide some statistical information on Ram Raids.
Topics that were discussed:
- Feedback on Ram Raid
- How to stop the spread of Ram Raids in NSW and how to prevent it occurring in other Australian States.
- Next step. Preventative measures. Protect, business Practise (cashing procedure, operating hours)
The New South Wales Police are in the process of finalising legislation that will need to be followed by anyone wanting to install an ATM in New South Wales. As the NSW Police approach the final stages of this document it is the intention of the Police to work together with ATMIA and ABA before getting final approval for this legislation
Positive feedback from the members who took part in the forum and look forward to organising another one in 2007.
