ATMIA would like to welcome new members:

- Protect Security Systems P/L
ATMIA has successfully gained the support of the Western Australian Police to provide this chapter regular updates of any criminal activity in regards to ATMs. This now means that ATMIA is working together with NSW, VIC, QLD and WA police. We are also in the process of obtaining statistical information from VIC and NSW police. This information will soon be available to all our members.
Last month ATMIA held a teleconference for its Life Cycle Committee Members.
As a result the Association is now investigating the “reverse engineering” of ATMs, ATMIA wants to ensure that these ATMs are not getting into the wrong hands especially in terms of ATM software.
BNW Australia is making a steady progress; they are now in discussions with Crime Stoppers NSW regarding an alliance licensing agreement. If successful BNW Australia together with Crime Stoppers NSW will proceed with:
- Press launch and media release (with ongoing media releases)
- ATM stickers for NSW
- Crime stoppers logo and hyperlink on BNWA website.

Latest ATM Scam in Australia
Recently a male posing as an ATM technician gained access to ATMs at a gaming venue and spent several hours working on them. After successfully installing computer and communication based devices this enabled the individual to capture all card details that occurred at the ATMs.
