ATMIA’s Debit Council Reaches Out to POS Business

The Debit Council (DC) continues to make great progress in identifying the POS Security lifecycle.

The members of the Debit Council are currently reviewing and signing off the POS lifecycle flowchart and definitions as the best practice manual will be structured according to this lifecycle.

The DC also continues to review relevant legislation and continues to see the need to work with the legislators on making a clear distinction between retail and bank issued stored value cards when writing legislation. There will be a DC GRC conference call scheduled in the next few weeks to go over all current bills. If you wish to be part of the ATMIA Debit Council looking at debit card and stored vale card issues and regulations, please apply to Lana at lana@atmia.com.

The response to the new monthly Debit Council e-newsletter has been very positive.  All ATMIA members are welcome and encouraged to send mail@lyleelias.com any information they would like to see included in future editions. There will be a featured article monthly, focusing on industry representative perspectives on current issues. The June issue featured an interview with NYCE anti-fraud specialist Bruce Sussman.
