ATMIA Asia Pacific News

ATMIA Asia Pacific had a strong start to 2007 having a strong member attendance at both ATMIA’s annual meeting and its Sydney conference in February.

It was outlined at the member’s meeting that the ATMIA needs to address the following industry issues over the next few months:

  • Preventing Ram Raids - ATMIA has successfully gained the support of the NSW Police’s Piccadilly Task Force to send this chapter on regular bases an update of criminal activity to ATMs within New South Wales.
  • Our aim is to set-up a similar information base with all Police Forces throughout Australia. ATMIA will focus on the physical aspect of crimes to ATM’s and will endeavour to introduce a criminal activity data base for ATM’s throughout Australia.
  • Industry debate on Direct Charging
  • Gambling Institutions- The meaning of an ATM within these institutions
  • Prevention of the sale of ATM’s through E-Bay and similar web-sites

These are just a few of the many issues that ATMIA will address throughout 2007.

The Conference proved to be a great success, the Association received positive feedback from many delegates attending the conference.

It was no wonder this conference proved to be so successful, as the ATMIA were able to bring together an elite field of speakers who are all highly regarded in their field and as a result provided a wealth of information to all those present at the conference.

Should any members that did not attend the conference and would like a copy of the conference CD this can be purchased for US100 from Amanda@atmiaconferences.com.

ATMIA Asia Pacific will continue to work and support its member in Australia and New Zealand. Our aim is not only to increase its members in Australia but also to become a strong force in New Zealand and Asia. ATMIA will continue to keep our members informed of any industry issues as necessary.
