Direct Charging

The quarterly progress report on the development of the ATM Access Code and implementation of the direct charging reforms is now available on the Reserve Bank Australia website: http://www.rba.gov.au/PaymentsSystem/Reforms/ATM/

The report give details of:

  • Access Code Development
  • Business Rules and Technical Specification
  • Interchage Fees
  • Transition Agreement

The conclusion of the report advises that substantial progress has been made since the last report of 28/November 2007. Whilst there is stil a great deal to be done, we are on track to meet the implementation date of October 2009.

Joint Industry –Government ATM Safety & Security Meeting

The Victorian Police discussed their proposal for an additional 20 CCTV camera to be installed into Melbourne CBD. The Commmittee is now in the process of arranging letters to Banks and deployers to obtain Historical ATM incident data, I will keep you informed of any developments.
