Featured Article: "ATM & Cash Innovation" wrap-up"  The Latin America chapter of ATMIA (the ATM Industry Association) hosted its third biennial conference and expo in Panama City, Panama, 18 - 20 April, 2017. Over 100 delegates from across the region gathered to attend 16 educational sessions over the course of the two-day event.

Q4 2016
Featured Article: "ATMIA Latin America Advocates for Reasonable ATM Installation Requirements"  Because of a rise in ATM theft (both theft of ATM vault cash and theft of the ATM itself), some regulators in the region have proposed and/or implemented very burdensome requirements for the installation of ATMs. Some requirements are so excessive and costly that they have caused a reduction in the number of ATMs. Which has led to long queues at existing ATMs and frequent out-of-cash situations.

Q3 2016
Featured Article: "ATM and Cash Innovations Latin America 2017"  "ATM and Cash Innovation Latin America 2017" will be the first conference produced through our new partnership with Reconnaissance.  This event will be moved from a mid-June to late April timeframe.  Although the specific venue has not yet been selected, ATMIA has announced that it will be held in Panama City, Panama. 

Q2 2016
Featured Article: Efforts to Support Windows® 7/10 Migration  Windows migration is  progressing quite slowly in the Latin America region, with less than half of all ATMs now running newer versions of the operating system. For more than three years, ATMIA has been actively involved in helping its members work through this complex process.
