Any organization deploying ATMs is likely experiencing an increased level of ATM crime and vandalism. Recent statistics indicated a year-over-year increase in ATM attacks of 165%. And although the rate of increase has declined this year, 2024 crime incidents are still up about 25% over 2023. Making this battle even more challenging is the fact that crime tends continue to vary from region to region and over time.

The fight against ATM crime is a massive effort. Criminals are very inventive and will eventually find a way to weaken or even defeat new countermeasures. However, they can also be a bit lazy. If your fleet is well-protected, they may just move on to softer targets. The ATM Security Association (ASA) and the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) are launching a new series of webinars to look at ATM crime trends and security best practices from a variety of different perspectives – A 360-degree View of ATM Crime.

Join us for the inaugural session of this new webinar series on October 24 at 10:00 am CDT. Our panel discussion will begin with an overview of ATM crime trends in the U.S. and globally. FCTI, ATM operator for 7-Eleven stores, will follow-on with the view of ATM crime and countermeasures from a merchant perspective. Lowers Risk Group addresses the impact on cash replenishment and armored carriers. And security provider 3SI wraps up the session with valuable information on effective countermeasures and strategies for protecting your ATM fleet.

Moderator:

  • David Tente, Executive Director, USA & Americas, ATMIA and President, ASA
