Everlink Delivers 15 Consecutive Conversions on Schedule, the Lastest with Aldergrove Credit Union

Everlink Payment Services Inc. announced today the successfully completed conversion of Aldergrove Credit Union, the 15th financial institution to convert to the Everlink payments processing environment this year. Aldergrove Credit Union brings over 18,000 members and 9 ATMs to Everlink.

As an added benefit due to its conversion to Everlink, Aldergrove Credit Union will be able to issue the latest in debit card technology – Interac Flash® – to all of its members, further preparing the credit union for the adoption of Mobile Payments in Canada. In addition to the above, going forward, Aldergrove Credit Union will be able to take advantage of Everlink's leading payments innovations across all seven of its Lines of Business: ATM Managed Services, Card Issuance & Management, Fraud Management Solutions, Mobile Payments, Payment Network Gateway, Professional Services and SME Solutions.

Upon the Payments Strategy Committee's announcement last fall selecting Everlink as the recommended switch provider for Canadian credit unions, numerous B.C. and Ontario based credit unions have chosen to make the transition. This has further cemented Everlink as the market leader in the provision of payments solutions to credit unions in Canada.

"Through our recent partnership with Everlink, we're able to provide our members with access to the latest in fast, easy and secure payment solutions," says Gus K. Hartl, CEO at Aldergrove Credit Union. "The conversion was completed with no reported member impacts thanks to the dedicated teams at Everlink and Aldergrove Credit Union who worked closely together to ensure a smooth and successful transition. We're looking forward to working with a trusted partner who shares our common goals of consistently exceeding member expectations while maximizing costs savings, and also brings a strong network of close to 90% of credit unions across Canada (and growing) to the table."

"The entire team here at Everlink has been working hard to ensure the successful delivery of each of the 19 credit unions converting to us this year, and we're thrilled to be celebrating this latest milestone with Aldergrove Credit Union," says Mark Ripplinger, President & CEO at Everlink. "We look forward to providing an industry leading payments service experience to Aldergrove Credit Union and its members, characterized by client centricity, innovative payments solutions and industry leading operational performance. We look forward to expanding our relationship and deepening our partnership for many years to come."

Scotiabank Opens New 'Solutions' Branch
by Scotiabank

Scotiabank proudly opened the doors of a new Scotiabank Solutions branch at 1 Victoria Street in Kitchener today.

This branch, managed by Peter Ly, is the second Scotiabank Solutions branch in Canada. It follows the opening this summer of two new branch formats designed to provide customers with a banking experience that meets their ever-evolving banking needs.

"Our new branch formats were effectively designed by our customers to build an even better bank, and meet our customers' evolving needs," said Rob Jones, District Vice President for the Ontario Central West district at Scotiabank. "Our new branch formats are designed to complement the existing network of branches and other banking channels, providing customers with a choice in how they do their banking. Scotiabank Solutions branches are innovative advice and learning branches for customers who come to the branch for financial advice, to work alongside a Scotiabank Advisor, and to learn and explore the services and tools available to help them reach their financial goals."

Scotiabank Solutions branches offer financial learning and advice. November is Financial Literacy Month in Canada – the ideal time to launch the Scotiabank Presents series at the new Scotiabank Solutions branch in Kitchener. Scotiabank Presents offer financial education and literacy to all members of the Kitchener-Waterloo community with free financial classes. The classes are tailored to beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels and focus on a variety of topics, such as how to save an extra $100 a month, planning to buy your first home, and a student's guide to managing money. Through financial education, and tailored, personalized advice, Scotiabank is working alongside Canadians to help them become better off.

Our Scotiabank Solutions branch format also offers:

Innovative digital tools to empower Canadians to improve their finances; ABMs with US cash withdrawals, the ability to select your choice of cash denominations, and envelope-free deposits with an image of the deposited cheque printed on each receipt; Shared space where customers can work together with Scotiabank Advisors to build their financial plan to become better off; New hours tailored to the customers' needs in the community, and more.

Scotiabank partnered with IDEO, a human-centred design firm, to create modern branch formats that will meet the banking needs and expectations of customers today and into the future. These innovative, customer-focused new branch formats have been rolled out in Canada, Mexico and Peru to complement the existing network of branches and other banking channels to provide customers with a choice in how they do their banking.

DPL Employees Donate Holiday Bonuses to Local Charities
DPL to match employee contributions to raise a total of $10K

Digital Products Limited (DPL), a company that specializes in secure, wireless connectivity for ATM machines, has truly embraced the spirit of giving this holiday season. Employees across their two offices, in Moncton and Rothesay New Brunswick Canada, have decided to donate their holiday bonuses to support local charities. To acknowledge their selfless act, DPL decided to match employee's contribution for a combined total of $10k.

"I am so proud of our team for stepping up to support local charities", said DPL's CEO Marc Albert, of his employee's decision. To maximize the impact of their contribution, each office decided to support one-to-two charities in their communities.

DPL's Moncton team chose to contribute to a recent fundraising campaign for Big Brothers Big Sister of Greater Moncton, an organization that provides quality mentoring relationships to youth in the community. "We are so thankful to DPL and all of the sponsors who gave us their support." said board member, Darcy Doyle. "The response from the business community was incredible and as a result we were able to exceed our fundraising goal and raised over $165,000 which will enable us to continue our work for years to come."

DPL's Rothesay team chose to support two organizations, The Joshua Group which helps at risk children and their families overcome adversity and Bobby's Hospice an independent, residential palliative care facility. "It's through the generosity of organizations like DPL that we're able to continue to support those in our community who depend on our services", said Sandy Johnson, CEO of Hospice Greater Saint John. "We are so grateful for the generosity of the DPL employees.

Instilling the importance of giving back in employees is something DPL's Marc Albert, is not only passionate about but it's a subject that's close to his heart. "Throughout my life, the support of others has been instrumental in my development", says Albert of his experiences. "Without their guidance along my journey, I would not be who or where I am today."

"Whether it's donating time or money, we all have the ability to contribute something to improving the lives of those in need" says Albert. "Employers have a unique opportunity to lead by example and to support engaged team members who want to pay it forward."
