Become an AAP or APRP in 2023

posted by Luann Kohlman, AAP, APRP on Thursday, April 20, 2023 in SHAZAM Blog

Do you eat, sleep and breathe ACH and work with electronic payments daily? If so, take the next step and pursue the Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or the Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) credential.

An AAP possesses a comprehensive knowledge of all areas of ACH, a deep understanding of and experience in one or more specific ACH subjects and a broad knowledge of concepts related to the payments system.

Similarly, an APRP has mastered the complexities of risk management across all payment types, including emerging and alternative payments. APRPs can help identify and fine-tune current processes and procedures or implement a new, more sophisticated approach. Auditors and regulators typically look to see if organizations employ APRPs and AAPs.

Financial institutions with AAPs and APRPs on staff serve as industry leaders and the go-to organizations regarding Nacha® Operating Rules changes and industry regulations. These institutions also enjoy operational efficiencies, enhanced risk management oversight, improved regulatory compliance and increased customer service and satisfaction. I invite you to join me and the other 4,500 AAPs and 500 APRPs to keep our electronic payment networks running smoothly.
