Daily COVID-19 Report - State by State

Some of the new developments in today’s Report include:

  • Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) has ordered additional expansion of child care access during the COVID-19 emergency.

  • New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu (R) has issued an order establishing the COVID-19 Long Term Care Stabilization Program which, among other things, will provide temporary stabilization funding for frontline workers that provide Medicaid funded services directly to individuals in residential, home, and community settings, as well as other frontline workers that have a greater risk of exposure, to remain in or rejoin this critical workforce during the COVID-19 emergency.

  • Oklahoma Governor Governor Kevin Stitt (R) extended the Stay at Home Order until May 6.

Since the global outbreak of Coronavirus:


► Over 90 bills have been introduced in 29 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia on paid sick leave and worker protections as well as appropriations requests.

► Over 290 executive actions have been issued in 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, Guam, and the Virgin Islands related to declarations of states of emergency, school closures, prohibition of mass gatherings, retail and business closures and restrictions, and stay at home orders. Over 845 executive actions have been issued in total.

► 20 state task forces have been established by 13 governors.

► Over 25 states and the District of Columbia have issued emergency regulations on a number of issues including but not limited to insurance carriers, labor and wage, and medical licensure.

► 69 legislative chambers have either temporarily adjourned, moved to virtual meetings, or announced an early recess or sine die.
