This is Stateside's Daily Report about State and Local Government responses to the evolving COVID-19 situation. For updates throughout the day follow us on Twitter at @StatesideAssoc.

Some of the new developments in today’s report include:

  • Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont (D) has issued updated rules for indoor recreation, outdoor events, offices, personal care services, retailers, libraries, restaurants and hotels.
  • Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) issued an order which allows for all public and nonpublic schools in Illinois to open for in-person educational purposes following the completion of the regular 2019-2020 school term.
  • Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves (R) has prohibited indoor gatherings of more than 10 people and outdoor gatherings of more than 20 people.

Since the global outbreak of Coronavirus:

► Over 200 bills have been introduced in 43 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia on paid sick leave and worker protections as well as appropriations requests.

► Over 500 executive actions have been issued in 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, Guam, and the Virgin Islands related to declarations of states of emergency, school closures, prohibition of mass gatherings, retail and business closures and restrictions, and stay at home orders. Over 1,800 executive actions have been issued in total.

► Over 20 state task forces have been established by 12 governors. ► Over 25 states and the District of Columbia have issued emergency regulations on a number of issues including but not limited to insurance carriers, labor and wage, and medical licensure.

► 69 legislative chambers have either temporarily adjourned, moved to virtual meetings, or announced an early recess or sine die.
