STATE AND LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS

CALIFORNIA

The Senate Committee on Appropriations will hold a public hearing August 12 regarding AB 1080, which creates the State Circular Economy and Plastic Pollution Reduction Act, creates waste reduction goals and charges the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery with developing criteria to meet those goals.

The Senate Committee on Appropriations will hold a public hearing August 12 regarding AB 296, which establishes the Climate Innovation Grant Program to be administered by the Strategic Growth Council or another entity identified by the council that it determines to have the appropriate skills necessary to successfully implement this program.

FLORIDA

The Agency for Health Care Administration will hold a public hearing and accept comments until August 14 regarding a proposed rule concerning the Medicaid provider enrollment policy.

MISSISSIPPI

The Division of Medicaid will accept comments until August 16 regarding proposed amendments to a rule revising prescription drug limits.

NEW YORK

The Department of Health will accept comments until August 18 regarding proposed amendments to its rules addressing training, qualifications and continuing education requirements for RNs in emergency department settings.

PENNSYLVANIA

The Allentown City Council Environmental Advisory Council will meet August 12 to consider an agenda item pertaining to single use plastics.

The House Transportation Committee will hold a public hearing August 13 regarding HB 317, which authorizes a state or local law enforcement agency to only use an automated license plate reader system for legitimate law enforcement purposes, conducting criminal investigation or ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws.
