Gunnebo Safe Storage Products Certified to New, Higher Standard

Gunnebo is proud to announce that many of our safe storage products comply with the new European (EN) T2 security standard, guaranteeing the highest level of protection against attack by burglars.  

The ECB-S, Europe’s certifying body, has confirmed that products in the Chubbsafes assortment, together with Gunnebo strong room modules and vault doors, protect against the latest methods specified by T2. This change to the existing standards has been introduced in response to novel tools now available to burglars. 

Safes within the Chubbsafes assortment that are confirmed to meet the new T2 standard include the popular Europa, Grades I-V, and the DuoGuard, Grades I, II and V. The Centurion Strong Room from Gunnebo (Grade VI, 80mm), and the Centurion Vault Door (Grade VI, 90mm) have been certified Grade VI-T2 according to the new standard. 

“Confirmation of these T2 grades from the ECB-S gives a clear signal to the market that Gunnebo is upgrading its product range in response to this higher security level designed to thwart burglars armed with new technologies,” says Mark Brookes, Global Product Manager for Chubbsafes.  

The new T2 grades do not change the existing classification system completely, but if an additional protection against certain newer tools is required, then the new standard additionally includes the T2 option to cover attacks of this nature. Gunnebo has played an active part in the creation of European (EN) burglary standards since their inception in the late 1980s.
