London, UK, Cape Town, South Africa and Sioux Falls, USA: ATMIA has today announced the publication of a study on international trends in bank branch transformation.

“Best Practice in Branch Transformation offers an inside look at trends in 21st century bank branch strategies to meet the challenges of multi-channel convergence in our era of customer owned devices co-existing with traditional self-service terminals and rapidly changing branches,” explained ATMIA’s CEO Mike Lee.

Authored by respected international banking consultant, David Cavell, the detailed manual covers the following aspects: customer-activated terminals compared to self-service facilities, analysis of each of the new channels, customer engagement with branch technology, access for the disadvantaged and disabled, the future of the bank branch, creating the customer and community destination, the role of the bank brand, other critical success factors, specialized branch types, staffing issues and new branch design.

While the research confirms the continued growth of the global branch network, including the support of all age groups for branch banking, the approach to branch transformation for our high-tech age has been variable.

“ATMIA felt there was a need to make recommendations at an international level so banks can optimize their transformational strategies going forward,” Lee added. “As always, David Cavell has excelled in his technologically, operationally and theoretically sound approach and banks will find much wisdom in these pages.”
