KeyBank has introduced its Key Coverage Zone, which will eliminate overdraft fees for customers that overdraw their accounts by $20 or less. In addition, the bank has also eliminated charges for non-sufficient funds, according to a press release.

Other services include:

  • $0 overdraft protection transfer fees so customers can transfer from eligible credit products.
  • Charges outside of the Key Coverage Zone will only be $20.
  • Only three transactions can incur overdraft charges.

"We took time and care listening to our clients' feedback and studying industry best practices to develop this program. We know that unexpected overdrafts can happen and are proud to introduce Key Coverage Zone as a safety net for our clients," Daniel Brown, director of consumer product management at KeyBank, said in the release. "In addition, eliminating NSF fees, along with our other overdraft enhancements, serves as the next step in creating greater flexibility for our clients. Our updated program reinforces our commitment to helping our clients take control of their financial journey."
