Lars Bernhard new head of Smart Payments

Lars Bernhard will be new head of Smart Payments as Susanne Brønnum has decided to leave her position to pursue new challenges outside Nets.

As of 15 August, Lars Bernhard will become new head of Smart Payments. He comes from a position as Senior Vice President in Smart Payments and has almost twenty years of experience from working with strategy and business development in Nets.

"After having worked with strategy and business development with both banks and merchants for many years, it has been exciting for me to join our hands-on efforts to develop the payment services of tomorrow based on emerging technologies. I am very excited about the opportunity to head the further development of Smart Payments in our pursuit of becoming a world-leading payments innovator," says Lars Bernhard.

Susanne Brønnum, who has so far been head of Smart Payments, has decided to leave Nets to pursue new challenges.

"I want to thank Susanne for her year-long service to Nets and for her strong contributions to our company. Based on her payments knowledge and experience Susanne has together with a strong team gotten Smart Payments off to a good start and now passes on the baton to Lars. I wish Susanne all the best with her future endeavours," says Bo Nilsson, CEO of Nets.

Smart Payments will operate as a separate business unit in Nets under the brand "Smart Payments by Nets", and will continuously aim to be on the forefront of payment innovation within e.g. AI, IoT, blockchain and biometrics.

Smart Payments will move to new premises in Vibenshuset in Copenhagen by 1 October 2018.
