The world of digital assets is constantly changing. The cryptocurrency market can feel like a rollercoaster with its market value highs and lows. Despite the uncertainty, customers continue to be interested in these types of investments. However, many of us find aspects of digital assets difficult to understand.

To help remedy uncertainty, SHAZAM is excited to offer a new live webinar series to help you enhance your knowledge of digital assets and how they may affect your financial institution and accountholders.

Introduction to Digital Assets is the first of the two digital asset webinars. On April 26 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. CT, we will discuss the origins of digital assets, including bitcoin, the philosophies behind decentralized finance (DeFi) and take a deeper dive into various other types of digital assets such as stablecoins and non-fungible tokens.

Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is the second webinar related to digital assets. On May 10 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. CT, we will explore various aspects of a central banking concept for managing digital currency, including the reasoning behind creating a central bank, how it would conduct business and how it could be set up to protect against market volatility.

Registration is required. There's no deadline and no charge for registering. Participants are only charged if they attend. Each webinar costs $250 per connection from one location, which means you can have several people learning for one flat fee. A recording is given to paid attendees.

Both webinars are presented by SHAZAM Product Innovation Manager Scott Green. Scott develops new product concepts and explores emerging opportunities in financial services. He values equal, non-discriminatory access to payments systems, and has a passion to find solutions that allow the business.

Scott takes part in industry collaboration through groups such as EMVco, Secure Technology Alliance, Debit Network Alliance, and US Payments Forum to help solve issues associated with payments adoption and use.
