MetaBank Commits to Sponsorship of Critical Legislative Alerts

SIOUX FALLS, SD, May 2019.  ATMIA (the ATM Industry Association) is pleased to announce that MetaBank has agreed to sponsor legislative and regulatory alert services for all ATMIA members, for the second consecutive year.  Over 200 U.S. members have signed up for these services, which provide detailed information about proposed legislation that could have an impact on ATM operators and acquirers.

“The inner workings of our industry are not well-understood by legislators or the general public,” says ATMIA U.S. executive director, David Tente.  “Requirements that might seem quite innocuous on the surface can have a very detrimental impact on the business operating local ATMs.  It is critical to know about such proposals as early as possible, in order to provide input during the legislative process.”

Email alerts provide notifications that a bill has been introduced in one of a state’s legislative bodies.  As bills move through the legislative process (committee consideration, public hearings, etc.) additional alerts are sent.  Alerts include bill sponsors, a summary of what the bill proposes, a link to the text of the current version, the bill’s status (e.g. “Introduced; referred to Senate Banks Committee”), projected outlook, and the local political climate.
