Saudi Arabian bank claims 'first' with contactless ATM access

Saudi Arabia's Alinma Bank has introduced contactless NFC withdrawals at selected Alinma ATMs, making it the first FI in the kingdom to offer contactless capability at ATMs.

"With NFC ATM withdrawals, we continue to meet and exceed partner expectations," Alinma Bank CEO Abdulmohsen Al Fares said in a press release. "For individuals on the go, NFC withdrawals represent a true convenience — just wave the card near the NFC terminal on the ATM, enter the required PIN and take your cash. It's safe, simple and secure."

Alinma Bank has a network of 156 branches and more than 1,460 ATMs across Saudi Arabia. It also provides 24/7 self-service banking via the internet and mobile devices, the release said.
