View ShowroomMilitary Times has named U.S. Bank the No. 3 best employer for veterans in the United States on its annual Best for Vets list, a ranking based on factors including recruitment, retention, advancement, family support and more.
In a story accompanying the list, Military Times wrote, “The companies at the top of this year’s rankings – including Comcast NBCUniversal, the energy firm Southern Company and U.S. Bank – illustrate how employers across the U.S. private sector have implemented ways to improve how they seek and support veterans.”
U.S. Bank, which has made the list for 11 consecutive years, supports military and veteran employees in a variety of ways, such as: its award-winning Proud to Serve business resource group (BRG); expansive leave policies and free iPads for families to stay connected during deployments; and much more.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by the Military Times as one of the Best for Vets,” said Jeff Logan, a U.S. Navy veteran who is now senior vice president of customer and employee experience at U.S. Bank.
He added, “We love to hire, develop and promote veterans because through the course of their military career they learn so many intrinsic skills – such as leadership, problem-solving and teamwork – that make our company better.”
Logan also recently became a board member of the Proud to Serve BRG at U.S. Bank. For more than a decade, the BRG has played a leading role in shaping how the company supports military and veteran employees, customers and community members. This has included hosting marquee companywide events with guests such as Medal of Honor recipient Florent Groberg, Gold Star Mother Jill Stephenson, and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback and U.S. Navy veteran Roger Staubach.
U.S. Bank also offers specialized products and services for customers and community initiatives such as a home donation program. Last year on Veterans Day, the company donated homes to four veterans across the country.
“We are passionate about the military and veteran community here at U.S. Bank, and we work hard on a daily basis to maintain the same culture of service as those who defend our country,” said Logan.
