Go Green Initiative for Issuers of Plastic Payment Cards

Author(s): Rahul Kumar

Green is no longer just the color of money at major banks nowadays, as they compete world over to go green. In probably one of the largest commitment so far from a banking major, Citigroup in 2007 pledged $50 Billion for green spending over the next decade. This was close on the heels of $20 Billion commitment over 10 years by Bank Of America. Given the fact that some of the largest banks are now considering their impact on the environment. IT vendors as strategic partners, certainly have a major role to play in the go green initiatives of banks by providing thought leadership ideas in the technology space.

In this view point, I suggest a combination of approaches that I believe will give the organizations a novel way to look at their CSR initiaitives, for cleaning the mess they themselves have created.

It may be a small card 85.60 × 53.98 mm/ 3.370 × 2.125 in (to be precise). But then, let?s not forget many a mickle make a muckle!
