Have you ever thought about starting an ATM business but didn’t know where to begin? The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA), the leading, non-profit trade association for the ATM industry, has you covered with a recently released infographic with what you need to know about starting an ATM business.

The new infographic “What You Need to Know About Starting an ATM Business” outlines four major areas of interest for those thinking of deploying ATMs: the research phase with links to resources, tips on setting up a bank account and contracts, resources and tips on purchasing equipment, and a section on security and compliance.

“There is a lot to learn when you are just starting out in the ATM industry and ATMIA’s new infographic is a great tool to begin your research,” says Bryan Bauer, president of Kahuna ATM Solutions. “There is more to starting an ATM business than just purchasing equipment and setting it up in a location. This is a complex industry with ever changing rules and regulations. My advice to anyone just getting started is to do your research and find a great partner that will help you as you learn the ropes.”

“The infographic is in an easy-to-use PDF that provides links to resources, training courses, market research and more on ATMIA’s website,” said ATMIA Global Director of Finance & Member Services Sharon Lane. “We are excited to add another resource to our collection and to provide the industry knowledge needed for new businesses to succeed.”

“The new infographic is just one of the many benefits ATMIA offers,” said Mike Lee, ATMIA CEO. “ATMIA is invested in providing valuable tools to ATM businesses of all sizes and working to enhance the industry worldwide.”

“If you’re new to the ATM business and wondering how to get started or a successful ATM veteran looking for new ideas to make your business more profitable, ATMIA is the place to turn,” Scott McFarland, senior vice president of Payment Alliance International, Inc. said. “ATMIA is the ATM industry’s home for all the latest in market research, thought provoking white papers and expertly authored best practices guides.”

Kenneth Gilbert, president of Cord Financial Service agrees. “We have been a member of ATMIA since 2005 and find the resources available on the site extremely valuable. As our industry evolves it’s tough to keep up with regulations. ATMIA keeps us up to date on what the regulations are in each state and alerts us to proposed legislation that may impact our business.”

As part of ATMIA’s commitment to promote industry growth globally, the association provides a wide range of resources to members from white papers to best practice guidelines to in-depth research on various aspects of the industry, such as financial trends, the role of ATMs in the global marketplace, and cash and transaction reconciliation. ATMIA also hosts a number of committees, webinars and conferences to help advance knowledge and allow members to network.
