We hope to see you in Montreal!

Introducing the new features of our EMMS Website www.dplwireless.com, effective Monday, March 25 2013. You can find a list of new features under the "NEWS" section when you login.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact DPL at 1-800-561-8880 or [email protected].

Please see a list of the new features below:

Dashboard Popup:
A new popup, we're calling the dashboard, is now available on the Manage Machine page, the Equipment Report, and the Map.

This popup is an augmented version of the machine info popup from the map. It is intended as an at-a-glance view of a machine.

The dashboard is configurable via the "Watched Values" section of the options page and also via the "Dashboard Config" section of the same page. Watched values are shown on the initial dashboard popup and users are given the option to expand the list to all values.

Alarmboard:
This is invoked via a click on a blue "i" info icon. The resulting popup shows any associated values, alarms and location that were reported with the selected alarm. If a location is present, it is displayed as a street address and lat/lon as well as a look (magnifying glass) icon which toggles a small glimpse image of the position in question, and a map icon which opens the DPL at the point in question.

Password Changes:
Users' passwords are no longer restricted to only letters and numbers, we now allow special characters as well. Also a new "Change Password" link has been added to the Admin menu so any user can change their own password.

Export to .pdf:
.pdf export is now available in addition to csv. You will now see an "Export(pdf)" button adjacent to the existing Export button.

New Sorting Controls:
Sorting controls were added in the summary report column headers. The current sorting selection is indicated via a colored arrow.

For example, if the up arrow on the ID column is highlighted, this indicates the report data is sorted by ID in ascending order.

The sorting option is now saved on a per user/report basis. That is, the system remembers a user's sorting selection on each report, and this selection is used for the default sorting on subsequent invocations of a given report.

Asset Icon Upload:
Users now have the ability to upload and display asset icons by asset type. The controls to upload an equipment type icon are found on the equipment type page and can be used to upload any .gif/.jpg/.jpeg/.png to be used as an icon to represent equipment of the given type on the map.

Options Page:
We have added a new page called "Options" to provide a centralized location for self-serve companywide settings. The following items are found on that page

  • Asset tracking data item selection. Some clients use the ID and type fields, while some do not. We allow companies to choose which two columns to show on the map's data tab. As the instructions indicate on the page, you can select any two of ID, SN, Type, and Name.
  • Company Logo. Companies can now upload their own logo for display on the website. Upon upload, the icon file should be shown in place of the upload controls as well as in the usual logo position on the top right.
  • Watched Values: All the values defined by a company's templates or machines are listed. Selecting a value as watched will force it onto the initial dashboard popup and also cause it to be displayed in the "Watched Values" section on the Manage Machine page as well as in the usual "Last Known Values" section.
  • Dashboard Config. - This section allows a company to set which data items they wish to be shown their dashboard view. If the location item is deselected all the location related items are excluded.

Custom Region Coloring:
Users can now define custom color and/or opacity settings for their region types (or individual regions). These settings are found on the Region Type config page or on the map itself (config icon on the appropriate region type's data tab). The color option includes the ability to enable or disable custom coloring for the given type; given that coloring is enabled, the user may define a custom color and/or custom opacity for allregions of this type

Address Search on the Map:
A new geocoding feature has been added to the right-click context menu on the map where users can go to a specified address. Enter an address and click the adjacent 'Address Search' button and the map will move to the desired location.

Other Smaller Changes:

  • Done/Return button changed to read "< Back"
  • On the company setup page. Descriptive information popups were added to each of the options and permissions items.
  • Added "Manage Equipment Types" button to the Machine Configuration page. Also added Equipment Types button to the admin menu for administrators.
  • Added "Work Details Type Setup" button to work details page. Added "Common Task Setup" button to the Template page.
  • Home page renamed to "News"
  • Updated instructional text in the new region textbox (on the map).
  • Added button to allow export of work details in pdf format.
