Africa & Middle East Conference Recap

The Middle East region held its conference, in conjunction with RBR of London, at the Radisson Hotel in Dubai from 21-23 January. The conference was well attended with delegates from Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan and India being present as well as the major banks of the United Arab Emirates.

The interest shown by delegates with the conference presentations as well as the exhibits was enthusiastic and both Mike Lee, CEO of ATMIA and Dominic Hirsch from RBR both felt that the business opportunities in the ATM and allied business space in the Middle East were excellent. Of particular note was the discussions held with delegates from India and both ATMIA and RBR are currently exploring the possibility of presenting a joint venture conference in India later this year and to exploring the possibilities presented by the sub-continent and its current growth and development.

ATMIA Africa and Middle East region would like to express thanks to all its regional members who have renewed their membership timeously this year.

The regional annual Africa conference for 2013 is to be held at the Radisson Blu hotel at the Waterfront in Cape Town from 9-11 October 2013. If you would like to exhibit at the conference we recommend early registration with Dana at [email protected] as available space is filling up rapidly. The range of presenters and their topics is looking very impressive with speakers from across Africa and the region and we encourage anybody who would like to attend the conference to keep a lookout on the ATMIA website as registration details will shortly be posted.
