Momentum continues to build as the EU nears legislation safeguarding the right to access and use cash. ATMIA’s long-term advocacy—based on research and engagement with stakeholders—has been central to affirming that cash is not merely a convenience but a vital public service.

Recent collaborations in Sweden, Germany, and Spain have reinforced partnerships between policymakers, banks, and service providers, helping rural and underserved areas remain connected to the cash economy. This October, the ATMIA Europe & Emerging Markets Summit in London will unite central banks, regulators, and innovators—including representatives from the Deutsche Bundesbank and the European Central Bank—for in-depth discussions on the Eurozone’s payment future.
