Chief Executive Officer
Mike joined ATMIA in 2000 and became the Associations CEO in 2005. Mike was instrumental in establishing ATMIA chapters in Europe, Australia and South Africa, and founded the Global ATM Security Alliance. He recently oversaw celebrations of 50 years of ATMs, and is now focused on leading the Association into the future by spearheading many initiatives, including the Consortium for Next Gen ATMs. In 2004, Mike won ATMIA’s member-voted award for best contribution to promoting the interests of the ATM industry. Mike has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Cape Town, as well as post-graduate qualifications in education and theology. He is a qualified futurist with an MPhil degree in futures studies (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch business school in Cape Town.
Global Director, Finance and Member Services
Sharon joined ATMIA in 2003 in an accounting capacity, and was promoted to Global Director of Finance and Member Services in 2005. Sharon’s responsibilities encompass financial management of the Association, as well as human resources and membership services functions. Sharon is passionate about creating strong membership value that addresses real industry needs to not only retain current members, but to attract new members. Prior to joining ATMIA, Sharon taught QuickBooks classes at Killian College, worked as a trust conversion specialist for First Bank, was accounting manager for a medical clinic and served as president of her church.
Director of Conferences & Sponsorships
Dana began planning ATMIA events in 1999. She is responsible for conference oversight and budgeting, venue selection, marketing, event logistics, sponsorship and exhibit booth sales. Dana manages the overall profitability of each ATMIA event, while ensuring a quality experience is delivered to all attendees, exhibitors and sponsors. Prior to joining ATMIA, Dana was the marketing director for the Sioux Falls Family YMCA.
Executive Director, USA, Latin America
David brings more than 30 years’ experience in IT sales and business development to ATMIA’s USA and Latin America executive director role. This includes ATM solutions and strategy development, as well as payments industry expertise. Much of David’s career has revolved around helping solution providers make better use of emerging technologies. Most recently, David worked directly with banks and credit unions to help transition in-house payment systems to an outsourced (SaaS) model. He has also led initiatives to grow both financial institution and customer acceptance of automated deposit solutions for the ATM, which required close interaction with network providers, card issuers, core system vendors and payment processors, as well as widely dispersed internal resources.
Executive Director, Europe
Having served as chairman of the ATMIA’s European board for four years, Ron became executive director of the chapter in 2014. Ron has a special focus on supporting choice in payment methods. He founded UK independent ATM deployer, Bank Machine, in 1999 and led the company until 2012, delivering exceptional customer service and double-digit annual revenue growth. Ron has board-level experience with a number of payments companies, including serving as chairman of Cash and Card World since 2013.
Executive Director, Asia Pacific
Sandra is currently executive director for ATMIA’s Asia Pacific chapter, and has been active in ATMIA membership marketing for Australia and the Asia Pacific region since 2006. Before joining ATMIA, Sandra worked for Mitsubishi Australia and was involved with the international marketing of chemicals. She studied marketing and business at Monash University.
Executive Director, Canada
Curt joined ATMIA in 2011. Previously, he was an independent consultant for large firms in the banking and financial service sector. Prior to consulting, Curt spent 30 years working for major foreign-owned banks in senior management roles, with responsibilities in both retail delivery and operations, in locations across Canada. He attended Trinity Western University and the University of Alberta. Curt is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
Executive Director, Africa, India and Middle East
Andrew is executive director for ATMIA’s Africa, India and Middle East chapters. He is founder and managing director of Calleo Solutions, a specialist research and advisory firm in the multi-channel payments and banking industries in sub-Saharan Africa. Calleo provides commissioned research to card associations, banks, payment solution providers and merchants. Andrew is also co-founder of PaymentsAfrika.com, a news sharing site for retail banking and payments interest areas across Africa. He also established the Retailer Payments Forum in South Africa, which serves the interests of large traditional brick and mortar retailers as they strive to multi-channel payment acceptance strategies. Andrew holds a degree in Business Management, cum laude from the University of South Africa (UniSA), and is a certified information systems auditor.
Web Development & IT Manager
Eric joined the ATMIA team in 2013 as website development and IT manager. Eric is responsible for developing and maintaining website functionality, as well as website hosting and email services. Previously, Eric was director of digital development for Lawrence & Schiller. He has 24 years of web and IT experience and studied computer science and information systems at Dakota State University.
Membership & Social Media Manager
Amber joined ATMIA in 2005 and has held a variety of positions, including marketing assistant, marketing manager, website content and social media manager, and training, web content and social media manager. She was promoted to membership and social media manager in 2016. Amber focuses on ATMIA marketing, webinars, membership and social media initiatives. Prior to joining ATMIA, she worked in the banking industry for 5 years.
Event Business Manager – US, Canada, Africa
Brita joined the ATMIA team in 2012 as finance and events assistant. She was promoted to event business manager for the United States, Canada and Africa in 2017. Brita is responsible for managing event registrations, speakers and for marketing ATMIA events. Prior to joining ATMIA, Brita worked in sales and marketing for Coca-Cola.
Membership Manager, Europe and Emerging Markets
Erika joined ATMIA in 2012 and was responsible for supporting the conference division of ATMIA Europe. She was promoted to membership manager in 2016, and now focuses on new members and account management for Europe, Africa and Asia. Erika has more than 10 years’ experience in the events management industry. Previously, Erika worked as a business development manager for a some of the UK’s biggest conference and event management firms.
Conference Director – Exhibitions and Sponsorships - EMEA
Reena is passionate about events marketing, and has worked in the events and conferences arena for more than 15 years. She started her career at Accenture working on financial services and legal sector events. Reena has a degree in Business and Psychology and majored in Events Marketing.
Conference Director – Europe, Middle East & Asia
Mary joined the ATMIA team in 2017 as events business manager for Europe, Middle East & Asia, and was recently promoted to conference director for the same regions. Mary’s responsibilities include end-to-end event planning, logistics, on-site management, registration management, speaker management and event marketing. Previously, Mary worked at Reconnaissance International as senior conference manager, fulfilling her passion for travel and working with diverse cultures.
Event Sales Manager – US, Europe. Security, Australia and Canada
Hope joined ATMIA in 2017 and is responsible for event sales in the United States, Europe, Australia and Canada. Prior to joining ATMIA, Hope spent 17 years selling advertising and sponsorships for a number of SourceMedia/Thomson Financial Media payment publications. She was involved in launching new brands as well as turning around struggling properties. Hope worked closely with editorial, production, circulation and distribution departments to ensure product delivery and proper cost estimating. She was responsible for identifying and executing all industry trade shows/event partnerships, which included ATMIA.
Membership & Marketing Associate
Claire joined the ATMIA team in 2018 as our membership and marketing Associate. Her responsibilities include helping with membership, press releases and ATMIA emails. She previously worked in communications for an agriculture-focused non-profit. Claire attended Augustana University, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from South Dakota State University.
