View ShowroomUnfortunately, the frequency of “jackpotting” attacks on ATMs has increased over the last 12 months or so. Although, technically, it is an attack on the ATM itself, the term is often applied to any form of attack that succeeds in dispensing all the cash the ATM contains. Jackpotting requires physical access to the ATM in order to install black box electronics, malware, or reformat the hard drive. Which means that Physical Security is critical to preventing this type of fraud.
Also be sure to secure and protect all network connections to your ATM. “Unlimited operations” typically involve hijacking your network connection, host spoofing, or man-in-the-middle attacks. But the results are the same – all the cash in the ATM disappears.
