Azimo, a provider of money transfer services, has extended its cash pickup service to enable customers in the Philippines to collect money minutes after a transfer is completed.

According to a press release, the company's direct service ensures that money sent from any of its 22 send countries across Europe will get to recipients typically within one hour and can be collected seven days a week.

The Azimo service is provided in partnership with BDO Unibank.Aside from more than 1,000 BDO branches, Azimo allows cash pickup through the bank's rural bank subsidiary One Network; BDO Kabayan Savings offices; BDO Remit counters in shopping malls; M. Lhuillier and Cebuana Lhuillier outlets; and Palawan Pawnshops throughout the country.

Additionally, Azimo customers can send money to other bank accounts in the Philippines, top up a mobile phone, send money to a mobile wallet or even have cash delivered to their door.

According to Azimo, its service is substantially cheaper than traditional services due to a digital platform that allows safe and fast payout directly via BDO Remit, without the overhead cost of large brick and mortar players.
