Don’t miss the debut of your new legislative monitoring system
Wednesday, March 18, 2026
After many months of work, the new ATMIA Legislative Monitoring System is up and running – and available to all ATMIA members. Although the primary focus is legislation at the state level, important federal bills are also monitored, such as the Safe Access to Cash Act.

USA & Americas
If you previously had preferences for which states are monitored, those preferences are still in place. In addition, you can select which bills you would like to monitor. And instead of getting 8 or 10 bill update emails a day, subscribers receive one email a day at 5pm EDT. Each email contains two lists – the bills that you are monitoring and all of that day’s updates.
Bills are sorted into 6 categories, similar to the previous system:
- ATM
- Cash
- Mobile Payments
- Overdrafts
- Payment Restrictions
- Virtual Currency
To access the monitoring system, you must be logged into your ATMIA account. Click on the Advocacy/Regulatory Monitoring/legislative tracking data option to view the Legislative Bill Tracker list. As of the writing of this article, that list contains 94 pages of bills.
Click on the magnifying glass icon to view bill details on our website. If you have an interest in that bill, click on ‘Monitor Bill’ to add it to your “short list”. Selecting ‘Flag Bill’ will trigger an Admin review of the bill for removal from the primary list.
Even more detail can be retrieved by clicking on the ‘View State Source’ or ‘View Legiscan Source’ buttons. Using the paperclip icon on the bill list page will also take you to the state government webpage for that bill.
This is a great new resource with improved features and functionality. If you were monitoring state activity last year, you can pick up right where you left off. If you got frustrated with all the emails generated by the previous system and turned it off, I encourage you to take a look at this new tool. If you have never subscribed to monitoring, take a quick look – it is good to have someone in your organization keeping an eye on state government activity.
Best regards to all.
