By ATMmarketplace.comPragathi Krishna Grameen Bank has launched mobile ATM services to help deliver cash to rural populations in the Chitradurga district of southern India.
According to a
report by The Hindu, the mobile ATMs will operate at sites such as hospitals, where they will provide emergency cash. Since the Indian government's demonetization of 500 and 1,000 rupee banknotes in early November, cash access has been particularly difficult for India's poorest and rural populations.
The Hindu quoted bank officials who said similar services will be introduced in additional districts.
