Plan Early to Become Part of the Next 60 Years of ATMs
Thursday, September 17, 2026

Sixty years and trillions of dollars after they were first launched, ATMs remain an indispensable payment method—and their functionality continues to expand. That evolution is the theme of ATMIA’s 2027 Annual Conference in Las Vegas.
AI is infiltrating almost every aspect of ATM technology:
- Smart cameras incorporate built-in analytics to spot suspicious activity.
- Managed video services allow operators to monitor equipment health, install software updates, and review alerts.
- Cash processing and distribution are increasingly optimized to save time and reduce costs.
What other improvements do you see happening over the next 60 years? This is your chance to share those thoughts with your peers.
Start Learning on Day 1
Opportunities to learn begin on Day 1 with deep-dive workshops. Tentative topics include:
- The next 60 years of ATM security
- Starting a new ATM business
- Branch transformation
You can also connect with colleagues and industry leaders by attending in-person meetings of the U.S. Regional Board and IAD Committee.
Day 2: Three Tracks, One Industry
Day 2 kicks off with a “fireside chat” featuring ATMIA executives, followed by our Keynote speaker.
Breakout sessions are organized into three distinct tracks, providing focused content for different segments of the industry.
IAD/ISO Track
Sessions in the IAD/ISO Track address issues that specifically impact independent operators, including:
- How IADs can help extend a bank’s footprint
- Emerging trends shaping the future of cloud-integrated lock infrastructure
- Expanding the role of the ATM beyond traditional cash dispensing
These are just a few of the topics featured in this six-session agenda.
Financial Institution Track
Banks and credit unions will have the opportunity to explore how the industry can rethink traditional approaches to cash, security, and self-service.
Topics include:
- Disrupting traditional CIT dependency and forcing the cash logistics space to evolve
- Understanding how today’s fraudsters exploit multiple payment channels to maximize speed and reduce recovery opportunities
- Exploring key trends shaping the future of ATMs, including fleet modernization, integrated cash ecosystems, and the convergence of physical and digital channels
Financial institutions should plan to sit in on this entire track.
ATM Industry Track
Topics of broader industry interest are covered in the ATM Industry Track.
Follow the journey and technology milestones that transformed the ATM into a powerful tool for cash recycling and improved customer experiences. Hear from major providers about their “next chapter” of self-service banking as the industry continues to adapt to a “phygital” world—where many people still depend on physical access to cash.
Don’t Miss the Final Day
Be sure to plan on staying for the final day. It’s your last opportunity to:
- Explore the expansive exhibit hall
- Connect with exhibitors and colleagues
- Participate in the final General Sessions
- Take in the ideas and conversations shaping the next generation of ATMs
Exhibitors: Act Quickly
If you are still thinking about exhibiting, now is the time to act. There are only 20 booth spaces remaining. Check out the exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities here.
I look forward to seeing all of you February 17–19, 2027, in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace Resort.
And be sure to book your hotel room early—rooms always sell out.
Best regards to all,
David
