By ATMmarketplace.comQuebec-based Desjardins Group has introduced its mobile bank branch, an additional way for members and clients to do business with their financial institution.
According to a press release, the branch was built entirely in Quebec (video of build-out, right) from a secondhand Novabus. It houses an ATM and a confidential space to conduct transactions or speak with an advisor about products and services.
Desjardins will be testing its mobile branch across Quebec for the remainder of the year. The FI said that it will help to facilitate business development activities and can ensure business continuity in the event of a natural disaster or in other unforeseen circumstances.
"Our new mobile branch is just one of the ways Desjardins remains close to its members," said Guy Cormier, president and CEO of Desjardins Group. "Consumer behavior is always changing and we've got to find solutions to adapt. Through this pilot project, we'll be able to test out the different ways our members and caisses can benefit from this technological innovation."
