Status of the “Safe Access to Cash Act”

Unfortunately, it does not appear that the “Safe Access to Cash Act” will make it out of the House this year. There is great bipartisan support for the bill, but simply too much competition for Congress’s time the remainder of this year. 

Progress is being made on getting a companion bill introduced in the Senate. Three Senators have expressed potential interest in becoming co-sponsors. ATMIA is very hopeful that the bill will be passed in the next session.  Meanwhile, all members are encouraged to express their support for the measure to their Representatives and Senators.
