ATMIA Announces Public Access to Report ATM Crime
Wednesday, January 21, 2026
ATMIA (the ATM Industry Association) launched a global ATM crime database (the Crisis and Crime Management Intelligence System) in May of 2021. It provided the ATM industry with a new tool for recording incidents of ATM crime across the globe. The CCMIS currently holds about 4,000 intelligence reports containing over 53,000 incidents of ATM crime, as well as various details of the type of crime and damages incurred. Full access to the system is limited to ATMIA members and participating law enforcement agencies.
ATM crime, however, also impacts consumers and business operators who are not members of ATMIA. In a global effort to generate more thorough reporting of ATM crime incidents, ATMIA is now able to provide non-members with the ability to report any ATM crime that they become aware of – regardless of who the victim of that crime is. It is our hope that this crime-fighting tool will expand the reach of our reporting network and provide even more accurate analysis of current trends.
Victims of ATM crime, in particular, are encouraged to use the link below to report it. Provide as many details as you can. Do not be concerned about submitting duplicate information, as the system is capable of detecting duplicate incidents. Reports submitted by the general public will be reviewed by a system administrator before they are added, then attached to the common Alias of ‘Public’.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated and a big step forward in fighting the rising rate of ATM crime.
