ATMIA Appoints Dr. Jesse D. Galvan as Chairperson of the Europe and Emerging Markets Board

The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Jesse D. Galvan, Vice President and Senior Director of Security for Europe & the Indian Ocean at Brink’s Inc., as the new Chairperson of the ATMIA Europe and Emerging Markets Board.

Dr. Galvan brings more than three decades of leadership, security expertise, and strategic insight to the role. His distinguished career spans military service, global security operations, and industry-wide collaboration across the ATM, cash management, and secure transportation sectors.

Talbert, CEO of ATMIA. “His extensive leadership and security expertise, combined with his commitment to collaboration across the payments and cash ecosystem, will be instrumental in advancing ATMIA’s global mission to promote innovation, security, and sustainability throughout Europe and Emerging Markets.”

A Distinguished Career in Leadership and Security

Dr. Galvan joined Brink’s Inc. in June 2024 as Vice President and Senior Director, Security, Europe & the Indian Ocean. Prior to this, he served as Director of Protective Force Operations & Training at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico—one of the United States’ most critical national security institutions.

His career foundation is built on 30 years of exemplary active-duty military service in the United States Army, where he retired with the rank of Colonel. Throughout his service, he led complex security and operational initiatives, reinforcing his reputation as an exceptional leader and strategist.

Academic Excellence

Dr. Galvan is a committed lifelong learner whose academic achievements reflect his dedication to leadership and strategic development. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from National University, a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and a Master of Science in Adult Education from Kansas State University, where he also earned his Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Correctional Administration.

Driving Collaboration and Industry Advancement

Dr. Galvan currently serves as the Chair of the Security and Risk Working Group for the European Secure Transportation Association (ESTA) and is an active member of several professional bodies within the Cash-in-Transit, ATM, and security industries.

In his new role as Chairperson, Dr. Galvan will guide ATMIA’s strategic initiatives across Europe and emerging markets, promote collaboration among industry stakeholders, and support advocacy efforts that strengthen the ATM and payments ecosystem globally.
