Gunnebo Safe Storage joins ATMIA to shape a greener future for cash
Monday, May 18, 2026
Gunnebo Safe Storage is attending the ATMIA Europe and Emerging Markets Roadshow 2026, contributing to industry discussions on how cash infrastructure is adapting to growing environmental expectations.
Taking place on 1 June in Madrid and 3 June in Berlin, the Roadshow invites banks, ATM deployers, technology providers and policymakers to align on operational priorities and advance actionable approaches to sustainable payment structure and cash infrastructure.
Gunnebo Safe Storage will contribute to a panel discussion titled “Developing a greener future for cash.” The session will explore how environmental considerations can be addressed across the lifecycle of cash infrastructure, including design, manufacturing, deployment and ongoing use.
The panel discussion, chaired by Myriam Bevillon R&D, QHSE and Sustainability Director at Gunnebo Safe Storage, will feature panellists from banks, CIT company and a manufacturer.
Says Myriam: “A large share of the cash industry’s equipment environmental impact is determined long before a product is installed. In this respect we need to discuss design choices, lifespan, and how equipment is serviced far more than incremental improvements. If we want meaningful progress, we need to focus on those fundamentals and apply them consistently. This will be my aim in chairing this discussion.”
The panel aligns with a wider industry shift in which sustainability is increasingly viewed as a structural consideration, rather than a parallel initiative. For many organisations, this means reassessing how products are designed, how supply chains operate, and how performance is measured over time.
Gunnebo Safe Storage’s participation reflects its continued focus on integrating sustainability principles right from initial design and product development. alongside lifecycle management across its safe storage portfolio.
Nathan Atterbury, VP Global Customers at Gunnebo Safe Storage, concludes: “ATMIA provides a valuable opportunity for the industry to come together and discuss the future of cash infrastructure. We are proud to host a panel on developing a greener future for cash, a topic that is critical to the long term sustainability of our industry and one that will require collaboration across the entire cash ecosystem.”
The ATMIA EEM Roadshow provides an opportunity for the industry to engage in detailed discussion at a point where expectations around both environmental responsibility and cash accessibility continue to evolve.
