First PREMIER Bank announced today it will open a new location in Madison, South Dakota. The branch was approved earlier this year by the South Dakota Division of Banking and the Federal Reserve.

First PREMIER Bank President Dave Rozenboom said the land has been purchased and construction will begin this spring near the intersection of 2nd Street NW and Van Eps Avenue. The bank plans to install a temporary facility on the building site until the new building is completed.

“We are very excited with our opportunity to invest in Madison,” Rozenboom said. “There are so many great things happening in the community and our relationship with Dakota State University makes it a great fit with First PREMIER Bank.”

First PREMIER Bank and its leadership have invested significantly into Dakota State University’s infrastructure and it recently launched a DSU-branded debit card. The debit card generates funding for the DSU Foundation each time it is used.

Senior Vice President/Relationship Banking Tony Nour said the new branch will be led by a familiar face in Madison. Longtime banker Floyd Rummel IV joined First PREMIER Bank in 2019 and will serve as Vice President/Market Leader. Rummel brings more than 15 years of professional experience to the bank and is active in many community activities.

“Floyd is an experienced banker with a passion for his customers and community,” Rozenboom said. “As we explore new opportunities, we look for leaders who are well-aligned with our culture and Floyd is a great fit. We are so excited to have him on our team.”

Rummel is a Lead, South Dakota, native and a 2003 graduate of Dakota State University in Madison. He is active in many community organizations, including Rotary, and is a board member for the Lake Area Improvement Corporation, Dakota State University Foundation and the Bethel Foundation. He and his wife Megan have three daughters.
