Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions Establishes Business Alliance with G+D Currency Technology GmbH, Market Leader in Adv. Currency Management Solutions

Tokyo, February 14, 2019 ---- Hitachi-Omron Terminal  Solutions, Corp. today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Giesecke+Devrient Currency Technology GmbH (headquartered in Munich, Germany; “G+D Currency Technology”), the market and technology leader in advanced currency management solutions.

Under the agreement, Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions has developed and designed the compact, high-performance banknote processing system C6 for the completion of the BPS®*1 system portfolio of G+D Currency Technology for the commercial market. With this alliance, both partners see potential to expand their business operations and to address markets globally.

As the first stage of the new business alliance, Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions supplies its BPS® C6 mid-range banknote processing system to G+D Currency Technology. The BPS® C6 banknote processing system offers high-level performance, excellent usability, and throughput of the fastest level, processing up to 1,200 banknotes per minute. It also offers excellent expansibility, enabling seamless integration of various software applications.

Moving forward, Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions will strengthen the partnership and continue to work with G+D Currency Technology. One focus area will be the joint development of solutions aimed at increasing cash processing efficiency and reducing operating costs, another one addressing markets and customers globally.
