Keller retired as head of Cardtronics’ legal department earlier this year and will retire from his position on the ATMIA GRC in February 2017 during the ATMIA U.S. Conference in Orlando.

The ATMIA GRC was created to address legislation, rules and regulations affecting the ATM industry. Over the years, the committee has worked to educate and inform legislators about the ins-and-outs of the industry and keep ATM operators apprised of actions being taken for and against their best interests.

For over a decade, Mike Keller has been a prominent figure in the running of the GRC and contributed heavily to the many success of the group both as GRC Co-Chair and through the unique insight he has provided through his position as General Counsel with global ATM operator, Cardtronics.

"The ATMIA GRC has seen a wide range of successes over the years and Mike Keller has been a big contributor to that success," says ATMIA CEO Mike Lee. "ATMIA extends our sincere thanks as well as our wishes for a pleasant and peaceful retirement and looks forward to his final appearance as GRC Co-Chair at the U.S. ATMIA Conference in Orlando."

“We had quite a few wins with the GRC,” Keller said, “starting with bringing legitimacy to the non-bank ATM operator. While not an issue today, there was a time when third party ATMs were not as trusted or respected as they are now.”

Other wins Keller credits to the GRC include helping to defeat the Harkin Amendment; enactment of state laws eliminating the ability of networks to force IAD’s to accept foreign cards without surcharge; the repeal of Tennessee’s bank affiliation law; Regulation E reform and many more.

“Mike will be greatly missed by all in our U.S. GRC and at ATMIA,” said David Tente, ATMIA’s Executive Director, USA and Latin America. “He did a great job over the years for the industry.”
