Legislative alerts can now be customized – state-by-state

In order to help smaller operators stay better informed about future regulatory matters, it is now possible to individually select just one state to monitor for regulatory proposals – or two states – or any combination of states you wish. Knowing the local landscape, and what ATM-related legislation is being proposed, provides locals with a great opportunity to influence these matters – both good and bad.

Each alert is also flagged, as to the type of legislation being proposed – licensing, ATM crime, user security, and signage are just a few of the classifications provided. Drill down even further to see a detailed history of the bill’s activity, what groups oppose/support it, and the overall legislative outlook for its success or failure. As of today, only three states have no bills pending with potential impact on ATM operators and deployers.

Access to Stateside Associates alerts is one of the most valuable of all ATMIA membership benefits. It helps all of us keep you from being blind-sided by new regulations. Not long ago, one state proposed a surcharge cap of $1.00.  Another, a limit of $2,500 on the amount of cash that can be loaded into an ATM. Other proposals have popped up for statewide ATM licensing that include restrictions on location changes. Tap into this important resource, so that you are the first to know what is happening in your own patch.

Turning on Stateside alerts is very simple. Login to your ATMIA account. From your account dashboard, click on ‘Email Preferences’. Scroll down a bit and check the top box under ‘Stateside Alerts’. Click on the ‘Select none’ link. Then select which state or states you wish to monitor. If preferences change, deselect Stateside altogether, or simply change which states you wish to monitor.

If you were to purchase this service independently, it could cost upwards of $60,000 annually.  As an ATMIA member, it is one of many benefits that you won’t find anywhere else.
