Protect IntelliCloud shows the current status of all fog cannons in a convenient way.
Protect – a Danish security fog company – has just launched a cloud-based service reporting system that allows alarm installation contractors or customers to monitor whether the customer’s registered fog cannons are performing optimally, or need a service visit. This improves safety and reduces service time.
An increasing number of private individuals and companies are choosing security fog, because it provides a discrete and effective form of security. Fog cannons are also a security solution that rarely requires servicing once installed. The user simply has to regularly check that the fog cannon has sufficient fog fluid, that the battery is functioning, and that there are no other technical issues.
This check can be easily performed by the customer or a technician, but has required that a PC be connected to the device, or that someone remembers to check the status lights on each fog cannon – including those installed under the ceiling. This is no longer necessary. Protect has just launched its free IntelliCloud service, that allows alarm installation contractors to group all their customers and register each fog cannon, which can then be easily monitored on their screen via the Internet. The fog cannon will also generate an email message if a service visit is required.
Protect IntelliCloud is valuable to both the customer and the alarm installation contractor. The customer can always be certain that their company or home is properly secured. And the alarm installation contractor no longer has to spend time on unnecessary service visits. If the need does arise for a service visit, the contractor knows what he needs to take with him.
Full overview – automatic notifications
Protect IntelliCloud is a cloud solution that is easy to use via any computer, tablet or smartphone. The site offers an interactive map which can be used to locate a given customer and then access data on each fog cannon. Alternatively, the customer and fog cannon can be selected from an overview. Each customer and location shows the information the alarm installation contractor has entered about them.
Battery and fog fluid status and other possible technical faults can be read directly in the system. If a fault or deficiency arises, the customer or alarm installation contractor is immediately notified. The fault or deficiency is also highlighted on the IntelliCloud screen with a red dot.
Virtually all of Protect’s fog cannons can be connected to IntelliCloud. The only requirement is that they are fitted with a Protect IPCard. If a customer or alarm installation contractor does not need IntelliCloud’s user interface and user-friendly email notifications, they can set up a ‘light’ version where they install an IPCard in the fog cannon and the IntelliSuite program on their PC. They can then connect to the fog cannons one at a time and view the same information. Whereas IntelliCloud users can monitor all fog cannons at once, and receive notifications if a fog cannon requires a service visit.
“We are the first company in the sector to offer a tool like Protect IntelliCloud. We see it as a groundbreaking development that will mean better security, and save time for both the customer and alarm installation contractor,” says Poul Dalsgaard, CEO of Protect.
