SIBS launches QR Code Express for MB WAY payments at the Book Fair

SIBS is once again present at the Lisbon Book Fair, which starts today until September 12, at Parque Eduardo VII, this year with even more novelties. In addition to the usual presence with the stand on MB WAY wheels, offering prizes to those who choose this method of payment, it will also provide all book lovers with an innovative, simpler, faster, more convenient and contactless shopping experience. , through the new QR Code Express MB WAY functionality.

This feature gives consumers the possibility to make their purchases in a completely contactless and even more convenient way. All that is required is to read the QR Code MB WAY on the product presented by the merchant with the camera of the smartphone via MB WAY and proceed with the purchase automatically. Each QR Code corresponds to a merchant, a product and a fixed amount, and leads to a convenient and secure purchase checkout through the Portuguese preferred mobile payment service. This is a new MB WAY operation for physical and online purchases, even more simplified, eliminating obstacles at checkout, for an express purchase.

During the Book Fair, this solution is available in partnership with Almedina – at Praça do Páteo Almedina, in the daily promotions of Livros do Dia and Books on Promotion – and also for more than 800 titles in e-book format. As a feature with great potential for small payments, it is also found in water vending machines, with partners Serdial, Elecctro and Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas – Águas de Luso. The proceeds obtained from the sale of water through QR Code Express MB WAY will be transferred to ENTRAJUDA's Donated Goods Bank.

This is the first experience of using the QR Code Express MB WAY, which will serve as an evolution base for the various potential future applications of this innovative technology in various sectors, both for physical purchases and for any online purchase.

In addition to the presence of SIBS at the Book Fair through the provision of this new functionality, the possibility of making purchases with MB WAY throughout the venue is maintained through the usual forms of payment at the automatic payment terminal (TPA).
