Sioux Falls, SD, USA & London, United Kingdom – The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) recently announced its plans to celebrate the trade group’s 20th anniversary during 2017. The celebration will coincide with the association's efforts to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the ATM – first launched at a Barclays Bank branch in London in 1967.

At the association's upcoming U.S. Conference 2017, the world’s largest ATM industry event, as well as at other events, ATMIA plans to roll out the red carpet and spotlight "20 Years of Winning with our Members."

ATMIA’s U.S. milestone conference will be held February 14-16, 2017 at the Sapphire Falls Resort, Universal Studios in  Orlando, FL.

“These past 20 years have been full of growth for the ATM industry,” said Mike Lee, ATMIA CEO. “As ATM technology and the range of operators and service providers expanded – so our membership and services grew to better serve a thriving industry.”

In addition to rolling out the red carpet for loyal members, the association has created a special logo and will celebrate the dual anniversaries in an upcoming year-long blog series featuring major players throughout the global ATM industry – stories of success, love, innovation and a look at the ATM’s big future! Attendees at the ATMIA U.S. Conference will also enjoy a special museum room showcasing the history of the ATM and the industry, a walk down memory lane.

“ATMIA’s work to develop guidelines and best practices is a key component in helping the industry continue to move forward, even in the face of regular compliance and regulatory challenges,” said Chris Chandler, ATMIA Board Chair and CEO of Access Cash, the largest independent ATM deployer in Canada. “The association’s research into cash trends has been especially essential to dispelling fears promoted by the ongoing ‘war on cash’.”
