Building an International Business…With Teamwork!

Johannes and Margit Sautner have been married “for a long time” — well before Johannes launched his business, Sautner & Partner, a supplier of software solutions for the cash supply chain. While Johannes fielded the currency change from Schilling to Euro, developed complete cash-in-transit (CIT) software and worked with CIT companies and ATM operators to better manage their cash, Margit worked as a legal expert for data protection and data security while Johannes focused on the business. Eventually, she could stay home with their children for some years before ultimately coming into the business to work with her husband in 2007.

As a team, Johannes and Margit have worked hard to grow their business into a solid, enduring company capable of serving CIT and ATM operators internationally. While the hours can be long, the couple takes pride in the fact they are helping to build a company designed to provide top-quality products and services. Over the past ten-plus years Sautner & Partner has expanded to beyond Austria to Switzerland, Slovenia and Germany with plans and infrastructure in place to push even further – including Italy, Hungary and more.

But, according to the Sautners, there are added benefits to working with your spouse. “You focus on the same goals,” said Margit. “You are a team and it brings you closer together." Of course, you are also together all of the time and you will have differences of opinion.”

Partnering in the business also provides them with the opportunity to combine travel and work by attending conferences and industry events. “We can choose to go as an exhibitor or delegate,” said Johannes. “When we travel, we go together and usually combine the trip with two or three holidays for pleasure.”

Nowadays, the duo devotes most their time to Sautner & Partner, often losing track of time and working quite late. “We are lucky some of our local restaurants are open until one,” laughed Johannes.

“Yes,” agreed Magrit, “but, with both of the children out of the house, the only one to miss us is our cat!”

With over a decade of dedicated teamwork from Johannes and Margit, Sautner & Partner is entering its third decade of success in supplying robust cash supply chain software solutions throughout Europe with the looks of many more years to come.
