A Flood of Cryptocurrency Related Legislative Effort

There has been a literal flood of legislative activity over the past month related to cryptocurrency and other digital assets. Actions range from standing up a task force to study the issues, to including digital assets in unclaimed property law, to creating new law for bank interaction and money transmitter licensing. Only 11 states have not yet introduced any new digital asset bills.

ATMIA recommends that all members who might be impacted by such measures, be opted-in to receiving Stateside alerts and closely monitor this activity. Federal level regulation will be addressed during the upcoming Washington, DC Fly-in.
